24 Hour Read-A-Thon: So It Begins

Dewey's 24 Hour Read-A-Thon
Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-A-Thon

Good morning!  It is 6:48am on Saturday and I am starting Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon.  Cedric, as per usual, has dictated when things happen.  He refuses to poop so we are on the sofa listening to an audiobook (rather than watching tv).  I have been creating a list of books that I am going to read.

First, Audiobook:

  1. Flying Colours
  2. Shades of Milk and Honey
  3. Bird
  4. Dirty Love

Second, E-books:

  1. Outlander
  2. We Have Always Lived in the Castle
  3. Lost Memory of Skin
  4. Full Tilt
  5. City of Women (if for some reason I am able to get to it)

Third, Print books:

  1. Lafayette in the Somewhat United States
  2. Zenzele: A Letter for My Daughter

All 11 of these books have been started in part or are sitting as borrowed on Overdrive.  The order they are listed in their section is the order I am reading.  Each hour I will switch format unless the needs of the day require something different.  For example: Cedric Doggery time (play, walks, shopping) will always be audiobook time.  The same goes for meals, knitting breaks, and chores.

I am not looking to finish all 12 of these books, just as many as I can.  I need to clear out some books because I have so many.  I highly doubt I will get to all 12, but I want to read as many as I can.  Some of the audiobooks are short and that will make things easier.

I will be posting more frequent updates via Facebook, but primarily Twitter with the hashtag #‎readathon‬.
