I had a whole different post planned for today, but I realized that August is about to end. My reading is about to slow down. Primarily because classes start on Tuesday and my fall, as usual, is packed with things to do. No longer will I be able to sit in my office, headphones on (lack of soundproofing in the office walls makes this necessary), and an audiobook playing through my day. I will be in classes, at the reference desk, and in meetings. Evenings will be full of new and returning tv-shows to watch… also, things to do.
So far I have enjoyed the entries I have been posting, but there may be weeks where I don’t have a currently finished book to discuss. I think I may go back to some from this summer that weren’t discussed.
A few weeks ago I posted a list of books I expected to get through this month. In the comments let me know if you read any of them.
- Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography
- Lucky You
- Juliet, Naked
- How Evan Broke His Head and Other Secrets
I managed to get through all of them. Next week’s meeting with be about Juliet, Naked.
For September, I have a smaller list of what I want to read. Two of these are already being read, but I won’t be ready to finish them for a while.
- City of Women (it’s a book club pick for my real book club and the last I have to read for our meetings this year)
- The Truth According to Us (Book Expo book)
- The Golden Bowl (Book Lust book)
- Outlander (Book Lust book)
If you want to read any of them with me, feel free. Let me know if you do. I also plan on having at least one guest meeting in September. I have a few people in mind.
