I don’t typically talk about the work stuff I do over here, but when someone interviews you and you say something smart, it’s worth a mention.
I didn’t just go to the ALA conference in Orlando in order to get free books and visit Hogwarts. I had two events that I was part of. First, I moderated a panel discussion about events in academic and school libraries. Second, I did a speed dating event about library events and presented the work I have done with Wikipedia edit-a-thons.
An edit-a-thon is when a bunch of people get together for a few hours and edit Wikipedia entries. As a host, I take care of snacks, training, and promotion. I have done a bunch with mixed results. I have failed and been very successful. Both sessions were very well received and the second one led to me being interviewed for a blog!
The interview was posted the other day and I am very exited about it. I said some pretty smart things. Check out the article to see for yourself!
