NaNoWriMo is over! I am done! Well, as done as I can be. What happened in the end? Quite a lot happened and all in about 2 days. As I have mentioned before, I didn’t really write a novel this year. I wrote 2 things. First, the background necessary to help me co-write a novel with Christi. Since neither of us have never written with anyone before, we felt it was important to really get to know the characters we want to write. I imagine, moving forward, that we will read what the other wrote and use it to help us outline and then find out how we want to approach writing.
The Elementals series was where I put a lot of my time. I ended up with nearly completed, detailed outlines for 5 novels in the series. I have enough to start writing the entire series if I wanted to focus on that. I even managed to connect things back to the New Devil novel I re-wrote in July as part of Camp NaNoWriMo. Don’t worry, this was part of the plan. I even got some contributions from friends when I couldn’t find riddle that met a plot need.
The last two days of the month happened to be particularly rainy here in Lowell. It simply didn’t stop raining for nearly 2 and a half days. I wasn’t too upset, even though driving in the rain is always annoying. Why? It could have been snow and then Cedric and I would have been stuck inside. It made those final two writing events even more exciting. That other people showed up, especially the last night, was thrilling. In past years I have been alone at almost all the writing events at the end of the month.
I ended with 50598 words this year. Another win under my belt! That makes win #12 of 13 years doing this!
