The Music that Inspired Modern Persuasion

A few years ago I borrowed a Pandora station from my friend Jena.  She called it her Indie Poptart station.  It was made up of female musicians who skirted the edge of popularity (and a few who crossed over).

The music that inspired Modern Persuasion

Jena told me about it when I shared that I was finding myself wanting to listen to Regina Spektor and Katie Nash.  It opened me up to new artists I had heard and never identifies (Ingrid Michaelson and Lenka) and those I had never heard of before, but now loved (A Fine Frenzy and Ida Maria).  This is the station I listened to, almost exclusively, as I sat in the coffee shop and wrote Modern Persuasion.  Many of these songs I decided were totally Emma’s favorites.  Today, I am sharing it with you!
